This three-frame exhibit shows a collection of Oregon’s County and Postmaster handstamps. It was prepared by Larry Maddux and was shown at the 2023 SOPEX stamp show in Medford, Oregon, where it won a gold award along with the Carley Memorial Cup for a U.S. exhibit of merit.
Seattle, Washington hosted the Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition from June 1st to October 16th, 1909. The exposition was sited on the grounds of today’s University of Washington. The event was organized as a commercial venture by the State of Washington and the City of Seattle. The United States Post Office Department maintained a working post office, Exposition Station, in the Government Building on the grounds of the exposition.

Lewis and Clark Exposition Station Postal Markings Exhibit Portland, Oregon hosted the Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition from June 1st to October 15th, 1905. The United States Post Office Department maintained two post offices on the grounds of the exposition - one on display at the Government Building, and one within the American Inn, a hotel located on the grounds. There are eight different types of postmarks available from these two stations. This exhibit showcases seven of eight types of postal markings from the exposition, and where possible updates the current census of these markings.
